Why would a gay man design women's clothing? I don't understand that there are so many gay fashion designers that design women's clothing. I only half aware that women even wear clothing. I am focused on the men: what they are wearing, how sexy they look in what they are wearing. As a gay man, I don't know the first thing about women's fashion. I don't get that gay men can design women's clothing. I could conceivably design men's clothing, as I wear it, and I am aware of how men look in men's clothing. I am never going to, but could somebody put me into the mind of a gay woman's fashion designer? Being gay myself, I do know that the gay men who design women's clothing are a VERY small portion of gay men. But why would they???? A straight man is aware of women, how good they look in their clothes. A straight man will take notice of how sexy a woman is when a gay man will not. A straight man actually CARES about making a woman look beautiful. I KNOW that they are not all gay, I am not generalizing, I promise. Yes John, they do deserve to look fabulous! Oh my gawsh! A gay goomba and a gay mushroom. Whoa!
How come gay men design clothes for women and know so much about fashion? I'm not being discriminatory but how is it that they know so much (supposedly) about women's clothing? Also why are women who are gay (lesbians) so unfashionable?
How come ugly women wear clothing designed only for pretty women? I would like to see them wear dull, poo shirts, ugly floral dresses, wack jeans, etc. Ugly women can't look like women. They are just..ugly. Sorry, folks.

Why do they only design clothing for women with small breasts? Ugh, I hate it.....I can't wear anything cute....I don't like covering up at all because I love to show off my body and my cruves, but all of the girls with really smal breasts get the wear the spagetti straps, tank tops, tube tops, and strapless dresses and shirts. I can't take it anymore. I'm a 36 DD and I can't wear the cloths I want....I'm not plus size either, I wear size 7-8 jeans, I'm a medium sized women but my breasts are extra-large...It's not fair, my waist isn't big either, it's 25-26 inches..My arms are very skinny, it's weird......It's really hard for me to shop at the stores I love like : Forever 21, H&M, Lucaya, Delias, Wetseal, Urban Outfitters, etc. Sometimes, I come out of crying from shopping because nothing fits because of my breasts...I'm 17, and I already get a hard time at school because I'm really the only girl with really big breasts, and I can't wear what the other girls are wearing...I want a reduction, I should go down to maybe a 34 DD/32 DD or maybe a D NOOO!! I HATE PLUS SIZE CLOTHING MOST OF THE XL SIZE MAKE ME LOOK BIG AND FAT!!!!!!!! I would rather have smaller tighter clothing
Looking for petite clothing designed for women with large bust lines? As a petite woman with 34DD/E breasts (natural) I find it difficult to find clothing that looks good on me because I am short waisted. Anyone know of any clothing stores that have worked for them, custom designers, etc. Thanks
How many customers would be attracted to a clothing store for women who are bit short or over-weight? What is the chance of suceeding for a new line of clothing designed to compliment not-so-perfect body shapes? Those pieces look fabulous on runway models and mannequins frequently look AWKWARD (to the least) on a 5-foot or a 180-lb sweat lady. We can definitely be attractive and sexy, just not in those ill-fitting clothing :-) How many paying and repeat customers would come to a store like this? Also for those over 21 mature women with wrinkles and wisdom :-) I guess we would need a new sizing charts too. Where can I get info on that?

Why do the shops not design clothes for the average sized woman? Why do shops design clothes for women sized 6/8/10? They may stock them in a size 12/14/16 but the styles look awful on a bigger woman. Anybody else fed up of skinny jeans and hot pants?
What would be a good title for a clothing line designed for short full figured women? Other than Petite Plus? I do not want to call it Petite Plus, because that creates visions of small round women, and I am mainly aiming at women who have real shapes but are under 5'5".
Why can women wear men's clothing? But when Men wear women's clothing, it is weird, "gay", unnatural, wrong, etc...? Does the double standard exist because of sexism? Is there a difference between the clothing in the junior's department and the women's department? My friend and I have a bit of a difference of opinion. She claims that junior's clothes are the same as women's clothes and that the difference is solely based upon quality and design. I feel that that's true, but there is also a difference in cut. Junior's clothes are made for slimmer, younger women. The clothes in the women's department always seem to fit me better than those in the junior's department. What's the scoop, guys?

Why do gay men decide what looks good on straight women? It seems like a conflict of interest, at best. How do they know what makes a woman appealing to men? What are your thoughts on fashion design for menopause clothing? Do these miracle fibers actually work to make women feel better when they get a hot flash & start to sweat? New fibers such as MODEL from the bark of trees is being marketed as a quick dry wonder fabric in the womens department. Mostly for dresses & fashionable tops. It looks nice, but feels horrible on your skin. I agree that there is nothing like cotton to keep you in the zone of feelin' good!

( This is applicable to panties and bras also ). As against Mens shoes are almost same , they have same type of trousers , shirts and suits. Why it is so ? What do young plus-size girls think of their clothing options in 14+ stores or sections in department stores? Around here, we basically have AE, Additionelle, Penningtons (all owned by the same company), and then plus-sized sections in regular department stores. It seems that either the clothes are outrageously priced or designed for older women... clothes so hideous you wouldn't want to be caught dead in them (ie: floral prints). In the department stores, you feel like they pulled the 14+ selection from a yard sale. There is the MXM line in AE, Addition-Elle, and Penningtons which is specifically for the younger women, and there are some really nice clothes... but who wants to pay $50 for a shirt? And aside from that line - nothing. I just think that there is a market out there to be developed. I find it very difficult to find clothes I really like and there are few options for places to shop... especially without going broke! I'm curious if this opinion is shared amongst other women who wear sizes 14+.
Clothes designed for women 35 and older... Is it too weird to like them if I'm still in my 20's? I've been a customer to J. Jill, a women's apparel store, and I just discovered on their website that [their mission] "is to build J. Jill into a premier national brand for women age 35 and older." Oops! Of course, not all of their designs suit me, but I can always find something I like. But after reading that "statement", I might feel a bit weird and self-conscious when I walk into their store again. Has anyone had similar experience? Is a hijab really necessary in order to dress modestly? There are plenty of modest clothes designs for women without needing to choose to an article of clothing which many see as symbols of support for oppressive Eastern versions of Islam. Or is this the intention of the wearers? Queen Elizabeth II and Margaret Thatcher would be good examples to follow. They are perfectly modestly dressed - and appropriate for the culture they live in.
Why are all maternity clothes designed for women with bellies and NO breasts?!?!? I am not a huge woman. Yet for both my pregnancies - this is my second - I can't find maternity shirts past 7 months into my pregnancy that will cover to the bottom of the front of my belly. They have TONS of leftover fabric in the back and on the sides, especially bigger the sizes go, but I can NEVER find a shirt that covers everything in front. What is up with that? What are your thoughts on a college program designed to make women better homemakers? Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary has a Bachelors of Arts in Humanties program that is aimed at making women better homemakers. Terri Stoval, the Dean of Womens Studies at the college said the program is "one of the most challenging, one of the most well-rounded and complete educations a woman can receive." The curriculum consists of General Homemaking, Biblical Model for the Home and Family, The Value of a Child, seven credit hours in meal preparation and nutrition, 7 credit hours in the design and sewing of clothing, 23 credit hours of in biblical studies, two years of Latin & Greek and some philosophy as the core of the degree. Some critics of the program have claimed this is merely another way that women are being forced back into biblical gender roles. Stovall answered critics by saying that the program is needed because of "the low standard of family and home life in contemporary culture." Please share your thoughts on this.

Why do gay men rule the fashion industry when gay men have no appreciation for female beauty? Gay men can appreciate female beauty, yes, but only in an intellectual sort of way. Why not let men who love women design women's clothing? Maybe then we'd have clothing made to celebrate the female form instead of hiding it behind UGLY CLOTHES. Why the Indian women do not wear SAREE to the work place or when they go out in USA? By any yard stick a women wearing a Saree with a Bindi on her face looks beautiful, decent and even sexy too. But in the entire USA not even a single Indian woman wears a Saree to work or any where else. They wear only pants and trousers. They don't know in such dresses every single Indian woman whether she is a Hindu, Muslim or Christian look horrible and disgusting. It is an admitted fact the every single American Woman loves Indian clothes because of their vivid colors, designs and patterns. But they don't know how and where to buy them in the first place and also don't know how to wear them. If the women from South Asia especially from India start wearing Sarees and other Indian dresses to their work and when going out trust me you will see even hollywood celebrities in Sarees. But the zillion dollar question is who is going to educate our women? I am unsuccessful in convincing even my wife also in this aspect.

Confused about womens clothing? Is a tank top modest? Macy's has clothes designed by Mormons for non Mormon women: Marketers are getting modest too. Macy's now carries "Shade" clothing, created by a team of Mormon women devoted to demure dress, and Nordstrom features "Modern and Modest" apparel. BUT I looked and they have tank tops. I have been to bars where tank tops are not allowed. What is up with that?

What I am suggesting is that the top echelons of the FEMALE fashion industry r MEN(invariably gay), designing clothes that are really only suitable for those women whom have a figure that resembles a slim young man,s figure(NO TITS or HIPS thank u)Women r not physically designed that way, they have hips and tits and if the truth be known us men thank god for that!So we have this paradoxical situation whereby u have gay men designing clothes 4 slim young men and a bunch of waifs starving and puking themselves 2 death in order to fit into the flashy rags! In our school we only have art lessons once a week, so our teacher tries really hard to think of interesting things to do so that we can chill a little between all the overwhelming lessons like maths,chemistry etc. This time she divided the class in two: boys and girls. She gave each group a theme and wanted us to design as many clothes as we can with this theme; boys are gonna design men and girls are gonna design women clothes (and later we're gonna switch.). This week girls' group's (my group,lol) is "butterfly" and we're supposed to design women's clothes based on this theme. I'm completely at a loss for ideas!!! Have you got any idea about what to do??? Anything, I just need some inspiration, our teacher wants different takes about the subject. I mean, a bit more creative than fake wings, I need a more wearable outfit. Thanks.
Men and Women, if the tables were turned in dress??? You can't blame guys for looking when a lot of girls are practically naked. I mean we wear skirts so short (holloween) that if you bend over your half expecting to reveal you goods. If guys (good looking) wore clothes as revealing (though in a masculine way) as women do now would women be just as guilty oggling men as they do us? and when revealing on men, not in a gross way, a way that would spark out interest. After all, the clothing design would be tailered to do just that. but think about it, guys are always looking at our chests, but a lot of girls put them out there. now if guys had a bit revealing down there, don't say you wouldn't look. ..." excuse me miss, my face is up here"

trying to suppress desire to design clothes? I have been struggling with the desire to try out fashion design. I want to go to therapy to get rid of my desire to design. you see I want to be a dressmaker and since I am a born again Christian, I cannot act effeminate (see bible verse1 Corinthians 6-9-11). I know in my heart that men who want to sew and design clothing have some roots in homosexual tendencies. I want to start a therapy program to suppress these feelings. I know I can change and be renewed through the blood of my savior Jesus Christ. I am a straight guy who likes girls by the way. I want to get married, have children,etc. I feel that becoming a fashion designer would hurt my chances immensely. women do not like guys who act feminine and I'm trying to get help to get rid of my designing desires. do you think this is a good idea?
Why do women seem to have better clothes than men (and more options)? Why do women have far more selection in clothing than men do? They can wear everything guys wear (and they do), and then they have all of their own clothes. The artisans that create women's clothes seem to have more creative independence when coming up with designs and colors. With men's clothing, the designers have less freedom and more restrictions with their designs. Now, some men may say "yeah but guys don't care about fashion". I used to think that way too. But as I look at it closer, I think it's more of a form of gender oppression in the form of societal boundaries. It appears women have less boundaries and more freedom than men in that respect. Men are conditioned to think that looking good and dressing well is "unmanly". But is this idea really inherent to the male gender? I see no evidence that it is. Or is this thinking more of a social construct? Think about it -- most "women's fashion" originally were worn by men: Earrings, jeans, leggings/tights, wigs, skirts, capri pants, heels, etc. At one time, especially in the Rennaissance and Medieval era, men were the ones that had better fashion, with the vibrant colors and more interesting clothing to look at. What we'd consider "unmanly" to wear now, was at one time the pinnacle of masculinity. This would suggest that men wearing nice clothing is merely a social construct that exists in different time periods, and is not inherent to how men "are supposed to be". As a fashion-savvy male myself, I will admit that I have a bit of envy and jealousy of women's fashion options. Since it became socially acceptable for women to wear men's clothing and be flamboyant without a stigma attached, will there be one day where it'll be socially acceptable for men to wear whatever they want (women's clothing, etc.), free of stigma and ridicule? Also, I want to point out that the best fashion designers happen to be men. Many of the designers that design the best men and women's clothing are men. This suggests that women don't have any better of a fashion sense than men -- men might have even a better fashion sense than women. But because of fashion restrictions for men, these male fashion designers can't use their creative genius to their maximum potential when designing men's clothes. It's as if they have to handcuff one hand behind their back.
What do women look for on men in clubs? Women, Clothing wise, what do you like as far as outfits on men. Most guys typically wear the a dress shirt with jeans. I know, this is an ambiguous questions. I'm getting ready to go to a club with a girl from work and I just spend $81 on an outfit from american eagle. It's loose jeans with a slightly town and worn look to it, along with a white shirt that kinda looks worn with a silhouette of an eagle across it with some other cool designs. Is fashion design really a profession? I enjoy fashion. I'm not fat as I eat healthy and I enjoy the gym and sports. I think I'm fairly attractive but I look at fashion shows and most of their models seem to look as if they have rickets with sticking out bones and bandy legs. What I was wondering is if fashion designers are really a trade or a profession? If dressing women is their trade, then why can they not manage to design clothes on anything but a straight up and down coat hanger? Why should I be told by them how I should look? Most of the people who tell women how they should look don't even fancy women. I'm a customer so I should decide how I want to look and they should design for me. I shouldn't have to change to what they tell me I should be like. I think the fashion industry is a joke and nothing to be admired or taken seriously about. Well, if all fashion designers or stylists showed that they can make all sorts of women look good then I would admire that they are properly trained in a profession. I think the woman on This Morning is good as she talks about all types of people and what they should wear to look good, but I don't see it often. I have a large bust, small waist and a shapely backside, so seeing something on a catwalk or magazine on a straight up and down woman doesn't give me an idea of if it would suit me.

Manufacturing my designs abroad (China or India)? I have decided to start my own fashion designs (women's clothes) and retail them. However, I need to find a cheap manufacturer who would make them to my design specifications and send them to the Uk for me to retail. Starting a Clothing Line? I'm in the process of starting my own clothing line. My main objective is to provide stylish gear for infants & toddlers. How can someone go about....contacting a brand that only offers men & women clothing, to outsource a few of their designs??? I would find the material to then be approved by the brand, manufacture them into infant & toddler sizes, and sold exclusively through my company. I know a few companies have done so successfully, but I haven't made contact with someone with advice or direction. What type of license or agreement? I have my business plan setup for getting the name out, going on the road to events, and marketing, but the most important thing I haven't found any information on. I am opening a clothing store and I am asking all women to tell me there bust, waist, and hip size. Please.? I am an average woman. Have 2 kids, dont eat as healthy as I should, and dose not have time to work out. I am a 41" B, my waist is 36 and my hips are 46". I am so sick of trying to find clothes. Is is too much to ask fashion designers to make clothes suitable for older women? We need dresses that are looser at the waist and that have sleeves to cover our upper arms. We do not need anything frumpy and old-ladyish, just some nice styles that disguise the flaws. A-line would be nice. Slim pants with elastic in the waist. Not everyone has a seventeen-year-old figure, which is what most of today's clothing seems to be designed for.

Why are adult babies usually men rather than women ? baby clothing...? I came accross a website where they sold literally baby items e.g terry & disposable nappies, onesies, dummies, trainer pants all of which were literally made from baby prints but in adult sizes. Were these originally designed for shows e.g. professional acting or to be worn just like a baby as some of them even stated the absorbency?
