fashion schools ? ? ?
im 18 and i want to go to fashion schools, but i dont have any idea what i will learn in fashion schools, i mean i love fashion, but i cant draw. and my friends said to me that since i cant draw,i better not go to fashion schools because in fashion schools you will need your drawing skills to make some sketches,is that true that my friends said to me? do u guys any idea what subjects will be taught in fashion schools?and do we really must have drawing-skills?? thx

- They teach you how to draw there! And even if you don't get the hang of it, fashion design isn't the ONLY fashion degree!! FIT has two schools, the business, and the art school. The art school has fashion design, fashion illustration and stuff like that. The BUSINESS school has degrees that you can use to work at ELLE or Vogue. So if you really have a love for fashion, don't count yourself out because you can't draw!! If you love something, go for it, and if fashion is one of your strenghts, DO IT!!!
- Univ of Cincinnati has a 5-yr Fashion Design - Product Development program and in the first year you take basic drawing & design courses, but you'll also take a lot of Liberal Arts courses. Fashion isn't all about drawing, it's also about the business of fashion - marketing, knowing your audience, knowing the materials you have to work with, etc. Check into Fashion Merchandising programs as well. Find schools on the web & look for email links to their Admissions dept. Then talk to them about what type of student they are looking for & what they can do for you and your future. Good luck!
